It was done by an organization in Ithaca that tried to index all the organizations in the State that had collections and describe those collections. This county was completed in 1982 and even though it may be outdated will will help to know what records existed at that time. In some cases record centers may have closed or merged.
The books in this series got nicknamed "Red Books" as the covers were all red. This one for Warren County in the first part has 27 pages describing record holding organizations and their collections. Then the second part is a subject index that has 60 pages.

Mrs. McBee was reputed  to be one of the leading Mississippi genealogists of her generation. Not  originally compiled for publication, this work contains a wealth of genealogical  information. Virtually all the information in this volume dates from the first  half of the nineteenth century and and is derived from the court records of the  following Mississippi counties: Claiborne, Harrison, Hinds, Holmes, Jefferson,  Warren, and Wilkinson. The contents include genealogical abstracts of deeds,  wills and bonds, probate minutes, and marriage bonds. Each of the seven sets of  county record abstracts is separately indexed for persons, while an index of  places follows at the end of the volume. Overall, the genealogical content is  very rich and extends to nearly 2,000 individuals
