Vintage Presto Kitchen Timer by The Lux Clock Mfg. Co. National Pressure Cooker Co.
Up for bid and for your consideration is a vintage Presto kitchen timer.
This would be great in a vintage kitchen or to anyone who likes vintage timers! It would be a wonderful addition to your collection!
The Details:
It measures almost 3-3/4 inches tall, 3-3/4 inches wide and about 1-5/8 inches deep.
This timer looks great. It has super cool mid century styling. The case is made of a sheet of aluminum that has been folded in half, with a curve at the folded end, which is the top of the timer. It is open on the sides and bottom, revealing the shape of the aluminum. The bottom is fitted with two cylindrical feet which appear to hold the bottom edges of the folded aluminum. The cylinders appear to be slotted to accept the the bottom edges of the aluminum.
The movement is fitted between the sheets of the aluminum, the front piece of aluminum is sandwiched between the numbers piece and another piece behind the front that is some how attached, maybe screwed, together. The bell is attached to the movement case and floats through an opening in the back.
The black numbers and "Presto timer" are bright and sharp, but there are some losses around the edges of the white areas where the dashes indicating the individual minutes is located.
The back is marked, in black, with the Instructions to set the timer. It reads "Turn past 5 then set to time" National Pressure Cooker Co. Eau Claire, Wis., U.S.A.
The bell is marked: 1 50 Lux Clock Mfg. Co. Waterbury Conn. U.S.A.
You can see between the plates that the case and possibly the movement has some degree of grease and oily build up.
This timer does not work and is offered for parts, repair or just a cool kitchen decoration!
