    Description

    Private Smith's Journal, Recollections of the Late War, was edited by Clyde C. Walton, and published by the Lakeside Press with R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company, Chicago, in 1963.  "The Civil War journal of Benjamin T. Smith is the record kept by an unsophisticated 18-year-old of his services in the Civil War, from October, 1861, to November, 1865."  There is one photograph and several illustrations as well as an index.  The 253 pages are in very good condition.  The hardcover is good except for some tape marks.  Inside the front are an inscription and two library stickers; in the back there are two library stickers and a place where one was removed. There is a library stamp on the cover page and a date stamp on the copyright page.
