Description
Are you a proud descendant ofElizabeth (Tilley) Howland,
Pilgrim and Mayflower Passenger?
The story of America's Pilgrims is nothing short of amazing. Arriving at Cape Cod off the coast of Massachusetts in the brutal cold of November 1620, after a treacherous 66-day voyage, they remained on the ship until December and disembarked in a land with no hotels, restaurants, or any form of shelter to greet them. Nearly half of them died aboard the Mayflower or within the first year of arriving. Those who survived got to work straightaway and began laying the foundations of the great United States of America. They planted the seeds that produced millions of descendants in America and around the world and 400 years later here we are! We are proud to carry the same blood as such brave and daring souls and all who share this distinguished honor should feel a great sense of patriotism and positive encouragement in their Pilgrim ancestor's memory. James Savage
Volume totaling
714
pages. Book is in excellent condition. Originally published 1860-1862 this is a 1998 reprint. This is the first place to look to find your New England Ancestors. Probably one of the most quoted and sourced set of books for that area. Per the publisher;
This is the basic genealogical dictionary of early New England settlers, giving the name of every settler who arrived in New England before 1692 regardless of their station, rank, or fortune. Alphabetically arranged for each it gives the dates of his marriage and death, dates of birth, marriage and death of his children, and birthdates and names of the grandchildren. According to the author, "nineteen twentieths of the people of these New England colonies in 1775 were descendants of those found here in 1692, and probably seven-eighths of them were offspring of the settlers before 1642."
