    History of the flamed pens
Everything started with a client who came into my workshop with a piece of resin. He asks me if I want to make a pen for him from that very colorful piece of resin. Normally, I only work with wood, but he was a nice man and a good client, so I agreed to make the pen. It was a very quick job and I can make five in the same time as one of my wooden pens. You don't need varnishing, only a bit of polish, ready. I wasn't satisfied with the result and I knew why I don't make these pens. That's Ok for industrial   productions and standard pens but not for me. There is no depth, no class. So I thought about, how to make high-class colorful pens. This was the birth of my Pop Art pens. Natural color powder applied on a wooden body and at least 10 coats of varnish. I loved it, it was incredible, nearly a three dimensional surface. A lot of work, but absolutely worth every minute to spend on it. One day, a pen failed and as I love to try new things, I had the idea with the flamed pens. Men like to play with fire, so I burned it with a welder. In the first moment, it looked only like burned wood, but when I sanded it two days later, a golden shimmer came out. With every coat of varnish, the colors came out brighter and deeper and when the first “flamed pen” was ready, I was more than happy with the result. For sure, I won't tell you all the secret about the flamed pens, but here some facts:
Natural color powder applied in several coats on a Cherrywood body. After burning, it needs up to 15 coats of varnish with sanding between every coat (For sure by hand with  a brush) to have a perfect surface and an absolutely unique pen.
    I hope you like it.
